The iCARO B2A is a 2 channel (2 camera) in-vehicle driving recorder or blackbox which captures Audio and Video data while you drive and even Video while you are away from your vehicle if so programmed.
Recorded data can be viewed in the car if you have a Video Screen in the car. For example, if you have a free unused Video Input on your DVD player you can simply purchase a composite video cable and wire it up so that the Video from the B2A can be played back real time on that screen. You can also view recordings which were captured earlier.
If there is no Video Screen in the car, simply remove the Memory Card and insert it into a card reader for viewing on your PC or compatible Notebook. The iCARO B2A comes with a free viewing program designed by AutoKaiser Korea. Simply launch the 'Blackbox Viewer' program and you will be greeted with the interface below.
If you click on the pink 'Setting' icon on the top right corner you can access a graphical menu where selections for motion detect, parking mode, announcement and low voltage etc are included. The 'low voltage' feature is particularly useful because it allows you to preset the voltage at which the device switches off. This helps protect your battery with the minimal charge you need to start up the car again. Always remember to save the settings into the card before removing it from your PC.
With the 'Blackbox Viewer' you can watch recorded Videos of both Front and Rear Cameras simultaneously. This is especially useful when presenting Video evidence of what happened just prior to an accident. With the external GPS Antenna (optional) connected, you can see your vehicle's recorded speed and if you have an internet connection clicking the blue 'Map' button will open a Google Map showing where your vehicle was at. This is a feature which owners of Vehicle Fleets like freight forwarding companies for instance find very attractive. Want to know where your drivers/workers have been the whole day? Now you can! Parents, do you stay up all night worrying if your child who has just passed his/her driving is speeding or drinking and driving? Now you have a tool which not only records their journeys with GPS and speed data but let's them know you're keeping an eye on them! Sometimes knowing that your speed is being recorded helps you resist the urge to speed. I for one am driving slower these days with my B2A and B4 recorders always on!
